It is very unfortunate that SARS in its recent operations has become a big menace for Rivers people, but more alarming is the fact that top-guns in the state are busy playing politics with it while innocent people die in the filthy hands of these nefarious bloodthirsty crooks day in day out.
Secret Reporters gathered that the heinous members of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS on Friday November 10th, 2017, killed in cold blood three innocent indigenes of Khana LGA on the very Black Friday the people of Ogoniland were marking the murder Of Ken Saro Wiwa.
Bariledum Cornelius (17), Ewornubari Lebari (21) and Neebee Baah (22) all of Luebe Town in Khana LGA of Rivers State, did not know that coming out on the night of Friday, November 10th, 2017 to man the barricaded farm road boundary of their community as vigilantes would be the end of their journey in this world.
These innocent young men ran out of luck when they met murderous men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, led by one Sergeant Rufus who were escorting illegal oil bunkering consignment through their community, the boys as a routine stopped the SARS operatives with flashlight to know what they were conveying through their community, but the government agents who perceived that their sins have caught up with them opened fire on them instead, three of them died on the spot while others sustained severe injuries while running for their lives.
Secret Reporters also learnt that the criminal minded SARS operatives after their trigger-happy display gathered the corpses of those they killed, poured crude oil on them with vicious intent to burn and reduce them to ashes, but when they heard the voices of the villagers approaching the fled the scene.
A source who is also an indigene of Khana LGA after the incident said “Some politically intoxicated folks see the cry against atrocities committed by SARS as endorsement of a particular political party and attack on the other, very unfortunate I must admit. Before Sergeant Rufus and his men killed those boys, they did not ask them the political party they are supporting, Rivers people when are we going to put on our thinking caps?”
When the SARS Commander of Rivers State, Akin Fakorede, was contacted he denied the involvement of his men in the killing, despite witnesses from Luebe town and its neighboring communities who confirmed that the cold-hearted Sergeant Rufus and his gang have been in the act of providing security for oil thieves in the area.
Fortunately after the intervention of the CTC Chairman of Khana LGA and Luebe community leaders, the Bori Division of the Nigerian Police fished out Rufus and his men on Saturday. As at the time of this report they have been transferred to State CID, Port Harcourt for interrogation, with many villagers especially the family of the bereaved keeping their fingers crossed and hoping the law will take its full course and the matter won’t be swept under the carpet like several other cases.
