When Jacob (not real name) secure admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 2008 for a Postgraduate programme in Nursing, his hope was that he will graduate before year 2010.
Sadly enough, he is still in the UNN with no hope of graduating by 2015.
Our searchlight beamed on the programme revealed many absurdities going on there. A source who confided in us stated that since their entry into the University, results has never been released on time while the lecturers deliberately delay students work for no reason.
We authoritatively gathered that the 2010 set of the Msc programme in Nursing are not yet done with their course work, but they are meant to pay a whooping school fees of Seventy Two Thousand Naira (N72,000)  annually. Further search for the abnormalities going on in UNN revealed that there has been no result release in the department for over three year while there has been no seminar held for about four set of postgraduate students.
A particular lecturer, Dr Ogbonnaya N.P who coordinates seminar we gathered has not taught a single of her course till date, even before the ASUU strike began. The only exceptions to this act are those of the PG Coordinator, Dr Ehieme. I. whose students are almost through with their course work and quickly helps in correcting researches carried out by them as well as the former Head of Department, Dr Okolie. V.U who saw to it that those who started the programme in 2003/2004 graduated this year

…Medical workers commence strike indefinitely.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dr Lawal Abolore of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba may have concluded plans to loot some funds belonging to staffers as he goes on retirement this year.

The CMD who has gotten salaries from the Federal Government according to our source has refused to direct the finance department to begin payment, thereby denying them their salaries since July, while other Federal medical workers in various hospitals have received their alert since August 25th, despite his promise to pay them by August. When contacted by some staff according to our source, he stated that “there is no money”. We gathered that he plans to pay part of the money by October ending while carting away some share of it in conjunction with the director of administration, Alhaji Oyetola who will be retiring same time with him.
In a mysterious manner, we reliable gathered that he went to the hospital mosque for Jumat service on the third Friday of August and got the shocker of his life. When he left the mosque and came out to look for his leather slippers in where he normally keeps it; he could not find it. Despite searching for it in all the nooks and crannies of the hospital, it was not seen. With fear boldly written on his face, he called his driver to drive close to the mosque who now drove him away barefooted.
Meanwhile the lives of Nigerians may be endangered by the Ebola Virus as the World Health Organisation and the UN counterpart have been having series of meeting in the hospital with armed policemen on guard, as they plan to set up an isolation centre within the hospital which is just 50 meters from the market.
We gathered that the Minister of Health, Prof. Chukwu Onyebuchi has given the go ahead but the hospital management have refused to have such sensitive centre set up in the hospital.
The hospital staffs has commence indefinite strike over this nonpayment beginning from Tuesday.

Authentic information reaching us from the stable of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is that the joy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) celebrating former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu entrance may be short-lived, as they have merely planted him as a mole.

Speaking to this Newspaper, our source revealed that the meeting to send Ribadu as a mole to the PDP was hatched during the Murtala Nyako days when it was obvious that the impeachment will sail through.
Nyako is said to have told the party hierarchy that the only way to regain back the State was to send one of their members who is easily acceptable to the PDP and Nigerians. The source noted that following their plan, a presidential aide who has sympathy for the party planted the idea in the head of Hassan Tukur, Principal Secretary to President Goodluck Jonathan who had to convince the President to agree to Ribadu’s return and give him the ticket.
Hassan we gathered reminded the President on how Ribadu helped him to become governor by witch hunting his former boss, Alamasiegha through the probe of his corrupt practices which made him impeached, that later led to his (Jonathan) current elevation as President. He also convinced the President that where it not for Ribadu who brought corrupt dossiers against Peter Odili that made him step down as Vice Presidential candidate, he wouldn’t have been where he is today. After much conviction, Jonathan demanded that Hassan reach out to Ribadu and co-opt him into the race and fly the PDP banner.
The source further revealed that Nyako had to nominate Ribadu as his successor but through the PDP when he realized that his son, Abdul Aziz who has an eye for the top shot cannot get it following the impending impeachment. The game plan was to use Ribadu to become the governor and scatter the PDP in the State before defecting back to the APC.
According to our informant, the APC is currently in touch with Ribadu and the Presidential aide who sold the idea to Hassan. The source revealed that the refusal of APC to comment on his defection so far in negative light is because of the game plan they have successfully executed. When asked who is sponsoring the former corruption Czar, the source stated that Hassan is the money bag behind his campaign success so far.
