University of Benin Don, Iniabasi Faith Imafidon, Fingered In N388 Million Contract Racketeering Scam

In another discreet investigation, SecretReporters has uncovered how a lecturer at the University Of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City, Iniabasi Faith Imafidon, was involved in contract racketeering, violating the code of conduct for public officers law.

This online media, while perusing the Delta State procurement portal, discovered that Iniabasi Faith Imafidon, a lecturer of UNIBEN, contravened section 6(B) of the Code of Conduct Bureau for public servants in Nigeria, which forbids a civil servant who is employed full time by the Nigerian government, from owning or managing a private business or company.

SecretReporters gathered that Imafidon, a lecturer in the Department of Educational Evaluation and Counselling Psychology, UNIBEN, also doubles as the director of Timeless Developers Nig. LTD, a company that was awarded a contract in the year 2021.

According to the document on the portal, the company was awarded the contract for the construction of the Delta State housing development program pilot scheme (Construction of 15 Units of 2-bedroom detached Bungalows, 20 Units of 3-bedroom Detached Bungalows, and Site Clearing/Access Road to Buildings at Owa-Oyibu, in Ika North-East Local Government Area) in December 2021.

The contract was awarded by the state Ministry of Housing.

According to the data, the contract, worth the sum of three hundred and eighty-eight million, one hundred and twenty-eight thousand and eighty-two naira, thirty-six kobo (N388,128,082.36), was awarded in December 2021.

More so, the company with five directors, including Iniabasi Faith Imafidon, is located at 134 Efezomor Street, Boji-Boji Owa, Agbor, Delta State, with registration number 772302. The company was registered in 2008.
