Any House of Representatives member who represents his or her constituency should always have the interest of the people at heart, make them a priority, knowing that the people voted him into that office, and carry out constituency projects as funds are made available to them, so the unwritten tenets of democracy reads.
Mr Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, is currently on a cruise of shame, as pictures obtained by Secret Reporters have shown his mockery of his constituents.
Last week Friday, Secret Reporters gathered that Pondi bought small packs of cassava flakes, locally known as sachet garri, which he took to his people in the Riverine area to share to them as part of his empowerment programme.
According to our sources who monitored the event, Pondi who’s gunning for a second term in office refused to go to the inland of his constituency but chartered a Cruise Boat which allegedly cost N3 million and waited on top of the river for fishermen and women to paddle their wooden canoes by him and stretch out his hands to share it to them.
Our market survey revealed that each of the sachet garri he shared to the constituents as constituency project cost him N200 per bag and a total of N20,000 for the hundred bags he bought.
Recently, he allegedly diverted funds meant for a scholarship scheme for members of his constituency, only to sponsor less than 25 youths in Maritime and Nautical studies at Joe Marine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research instead of hundred youths.
He didn’t pick calls from the newsroom to respond to our enquiries as at press time.
HON. PONDI’S VISIT TO OJOBO COMMUNITY: The Truth and Nothing but the Whole Truth
There is absolutely no iota of truth in this story making the rounds that Hon. Julius G Pondi, the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, in the Federal house of Representatives gave 200 naiara worth of garri and rice to his constituents as empowerment programme. It is absolutely not true as it is only been misinterpreted by the detractors of the hardworking honourable member representing Burutu Federal Constituency.
There is no gainsaying that Hon. Pondi is arguably one of the best representatives Burutu Federal Constituency has produced as he has constantly defended the interest of his constituents both on the floor of the green chamber and outside the National Assembly.
The items presented by the honourable were souvenires (gifts) provided by the Julius Pondi Foundation to support the family of late Mrs Pauline Akemeyai Zuokumor, mother of the former Chairman of Burutu LGA, Hon. Frank Ikiomi Zuokumor; when Hon. Pondi was the leader of the Burutu Legislative Arm.
The Honourable only made it a point of duty to hand some of the gift packs over to anyone that drove or paddled past him on his way to the venue of the burial ceremony.
It is very important to note that this is immediately after Hon. Pondi alongside Sen. James Manager visited Tuomo Community, where they called the attention of the federal goverment to the suffering of the people occassioned by the recent landslide which displaced hundreds of his constituents.
There is no doubt that he would have very quietly attended the burial like everyone else and left but decided to give something to anyone that drove or paddled past him along the waterways.
This effort by the honourable deserve commendation and if not for the fact that the initiative is been misinterpreted by mischiefmakers; It’s a matter of one deciding to give a bottle of water to anyone that he comes across along his path.
The antecedents of the honourable is impecabble and I can boldly say that the people of Burutu Federal Constituency are very proud of his efforts at forging a purposeful representation.

Please stop this false image laundering and join the vanguard of change because Delta can never move forward with these cultists in the corridor of power in the state
