The Lagos State Office of the State Surveyor General and the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute have been found complicit in contract racketeering under the watch Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Data on the State’s open procurement portal have it that the Office of the State Surveyor General awarded two contracts worth over ten million Naira to companies that were not qualified for the State Government’s contracts, suspected to be owned by cronies.
SecretsReporters also gathered that Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute granted a multimillion contract to a company suspected to be owned by cronies which was not qualified for the contract.
This online media gathered that in fragrant deviance to the law, in June 2022, Office of the State Surveyor General awarded a contract worth N2,350,000.00 to Dynamopro Enterprises for Supply of Stationeries and Other Consumables for Zonal Offices.
Investigations revealed that Dynamopro Enterprises was registered on November 2, 2021, implying that it didn’t have up to three years taxation before it was awarded the contract. Going by the day of incorporation, it denotes that the company was not worthy to even bid for the contract.
Data accessed by this media didn’t reveal the method used in awarding the contract, the contract details also failed to reveal names of the other companies that ran the race for the juicy contract.
In a similar move, the Office of the State Surveyor General under the leadership Ayokunnu S. Adesina, Surveyor General, sometime in June 2022, awarded a contract worth N9,900,000, for Supply of Survey Equipment for the Office of the State Surveyor General to the same company, Dynamopro Enterprises.
A forensic x-ray of the contract details showed that other companies that hunted for the contract were not revealed. It is also unclear how Adesina arrived at awarding a contract to company that didn’t have up to three years taxation.
In another show of corrupt practice, we unearthed how in June 2022, the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute awarded a contract worth N55,638,000.00 for “Catering Services Of 3,372 Participants In The Y2022 Mandatory Training For Lagos State Government Law Enforcement Officers @5,500 Each,” to House Of Omotunde Alata Foods & Catering Services.
Findings show that the company was registered on 10th December 2020 which implies that it didn’t have up to three years taxation before the mouth-watering contract was awarded in 2022.
The Institute, which is domiciled at PSSDC, Magodo is responsible for implementation of standardized trainings for State Law Enforcement Officers, including but not limited to officers of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).
