Secrets Reporters
Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa must be thinking seriously of the best way to go about what to do to secure access to the governor’s office if information which our source revealed to us is anything to go by on his first day in office.
Okowa who has never given anyone doubt on his preparation for governance could not however gain access to where he is meant to perform his official duties, as the keys could not be found. This is in contrast to other State Governors, who our correspondents have their pictures of them seated in their offices on first day of duty.
Benson Oburoh, the government house permanent secretary who was imposed by former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan despite being a level 13 officer staff conducted the governor round the premises. We gathered that most of the properties in the complex have been carted away, an act which will see to the government of the day buying new ones.
According to a very reliable source who spoke to Secrets Reporters on anonymous condition, Okowa will commit his first political baptism of fire by relieving Benson of his job as he is known to be loyal to the ex governor. He stated that Benson’s fate currently hangs in the air, as the permanent secretary has also be reaching out to those who has the governor’s ear to plead on his behalf with promise to pledge total loyalty.
Secrets Reporters went round Asaba town on Monday to ask the residents what they expect from the Okowa’s government. Those who spoke to our reporters dismissed the governor as one who will perform, since he is believed to be the completion of the James Ibori dynasty. They however expressed pleasure that with the appointment of the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Ovie Agas, the governor may be his own man and won’t be influenced.
Most of them appealed to our paper to reach out to the governor concerning the flood which takes over the cit whenever it rains, calling on him to do the drainage as one of his first project.
There was no aide of the governor to speak to our reporter concerning the story, as he was yet to announce any position of his media aides.
