An aircraft conveying Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has been grounded in Kano State. According to the Kano State commissioner for home affairs,
Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the grounding of the plane at Aminu Kano International Airport was on “orders from above”.
The plane which had in it former governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje, and the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje was in Kano State for condolence visit to Governor Rabiu Kwankwanso.
It is not clear on why the plane was grounded.
