As Nigeria battles to salvage its battered corrupt image in the International community, a group of lawmakers from the House of Reps, Mohammed Garba Gololo (APC, Bauchi) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue) have been accused of attempted rape in the United States.
The lawmakers who are ten in number, recently travelled to Cleveland, Ohio as participants in the International Visitor Leadership Programme on good governance, but ended up seeking for comfort in the arms of prostitutes, abandoning their supposed programme they went for.
The lawmakers have been accused of attempted rape and soliciting for prostitutes while on official trip to the U.S. there was an attempt to molest a Hotel housekeeper at the International Visitor Leadership Programme.
There are reports from employees of the Cleveland hotel where the representatives stayed, alleging that one of the National Assembly members grabbed a housekeeper in his hotel room and solicited her for sex. While the housekeeper reported the incident to her management, while Mark Terseer Gbillah allegedly requested hotel parking attendants to assist them to solicit prostitutes, while an Akwa Ibom Lawmaker, Mr.Sam Ikon who was on the trip also requested same.
There are confirmed reports from the U.S. Mission and the identities of the individuals with the employees of the hotel in Cleveland.

We gathered that, such conduct could affect some participants’ ability to travel to the United States in the future. “While the majority of Nigerian visitors to the United States do behave appropriately, even a few Nigerians demonstrating poor judgement leads to a poor impression of the Nigerian people.
Further findings show that most of the members who are on the programme reacted very negatively when the matter was brought to the attention of the U.S authorities.
Characteristically of Nigerian politicians, they plan to waste Nigerian tax payers money to pay prostitutes for the days they will stay in USA for the course.
