The head (Olare-Aja) of Abigborodo Community in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Pa. Aya Ameyeyewede says Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who is paternally from the community “has done very well for the people of Abigborodo”.
Pa. Ameyeyewede gave the commendation yesterday when he played host to an Itsekiri group, Concern Itsekiri Social Media Activist, CISMA, which is on a tour of projects executed by the Uduaghan administration in Itsekiri communities across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas.
The Olare-Aja who spoke through an elder in the community, Mr. Velly Bobi noted that some of the projects executed by the Uduaghan administration in the community amid criticism include the long stretch of Ugberikoko-Abigborodo bridges and road, construction of well equipped health centre, building of model primary and secondary schools as well as award of scholarships and employment of indigenes of the community.
He stated that the people of Abigborodo “will ever remain grateful to Dr. Uduaghan”, describing him “as the light of Abigborodo”.
Initiator of CISMA, a chat group, Comrade Jerry Onesan in a remark, explained that the group decided to embark on a tour of projects executed by the Uduaghan administration in the three Warri Local Government Areas, “because of the criticism” against the governor with a view to enabling the people know of his achievements in the social media across the world.

While commending the Chairman, House Committee on Finance Appropriation in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Mayuku for his “necessary encouragement to enable the group embark on the project assessment”, Comrade Onesan disclosed that CISMA will continue with the projects’ inspection till the expiration of Governor Uduaghan’s tenure in May 29, 2015, even as he quipped that the group is supporting the governor to finish strong.
Also speaking during the tour, the Sergeant at Arm of another social media group, Umeh Needs Road Forum, Comrade Nelson Egware gave plaudits to the Uduaghan administration for the development strides in Ugborodo despite criticism against him.
Mr. Nelson Egware was assured by the Resident Site Engineer of the proposed Delta State Polytechnic, Abigborodo, Engr. Idris Idowu that the project will be completed before May 29, 2015 handover date of the Uduaghan administration.
Another key member of CISMA, Gedu Godwin Toritseju applauded Governor Uduaghan’s achievements in infrastructural development and appealed to him to expedite action on the Ubeji road, Koko-Ugbenu road and Omadino-Warri-Sapele road so that the projects can be commissioned before the expiration of the governor’s tenure.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that projects inspected by members of CISMA in Abigborodo included: the electricity installation, the mega road and bridges project linking Abigborodo in Warri North Local Government Area and Ugberikoko in Sapele Local Government, the community health centre, model primary and secondary schools as well as the permanent site of the proposed tertiary institution in Abigborodo.
