TOO MANY SINS: WHY OBASANJO FELL OUT WITH BUHARI FOR REFUSING TO GIVE HIM $5.8 BILLION MAMBILA POWER PROJECT CONTRACT

Secret Reporters

The formation of a new coalition to oust out Nigeria’s sitting President, Mr Muhammadu Buhari by former President Olusegun Obasanjo may not be for patriotic reasons as paraded by Obasanjo but for selfish purpose, sources within the Presidential Villa has squealed to SecretReporters.

The Coalition which is codenamed ‘The Third Force’ is a secret tool used by the former President to fight his selfish desire, deceiving Nigerians into believing that it’s for the common good, according to sources close to the President.

We gathered that the going between the two African leaders was going well, until Buhari began to question some of the mishap and unnecessary benefits enjoyed by Obasanjo long after he left office.

Some of the benefits allegedly enjoyed by Obasanjo which Ex President Goodluck Jonathan did not also stop were the payment of staff of his private Otta Farms in Ogun and Delta States as well as payment of staff for his private Bells Secondary School and University, with the schools using Federal Government registered plate numbers when he was President.

The Otta Farms in Delta State was 100% built by the State Government, under the eyes of George Orogun when he was Commissioner for Finance, even though the public has been deceived for long, into believing that Obasanjo financed it. SecretReporters will disclose the exclusive story on the Delta Farm soon.

These abnormalities got Buhari furious and in one of his meetings with Obasanjo, told him that he was going to cancel the payments, which he truly did.

Another sin committed by the President sources revealed is his refusal to accept the names of Obasanjo’s candidate for Ogun State, but stuck to the name brought by the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun. He also sent the name of a nominee for the sacked National Intelligence Agency (NIA) citing the refusal of his ministerial nominee but was also rejected by Buhari. This was when he decided to go ballistic, a source disclosed.

During the $5.8 billion bidding for the 3,050 Megawatt Mambilla electricity project which was finally won by three Chinese firms, Obasanjo allegedly brought a company which he had interest and mounted pressure on the President to direct the Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola, to accept the company, but was told to follow the bidding process which saw his company losing, and never forgave Buhari for the loss.

Calls placed to Femi Adesina to get the government side of the story were unsuccessful, as he didn’t pick nor reply our messages. Attempts to also reach the media office of the former president were also unsuccessful.
