The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) may have come and gone, but startling revelations currently reeling out are alarming.
President Muhammadu Buhari who was at the event we can report authoritatively slept at the Presidential room of the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel, located in New York, NY 10017.
The room as at the time of his lodging was 3,305.5 Pounds a night. The exchange rate of the Naira when Buhari lodged there was N572 to 1 Pound. Rather than going for Presidential suites of other hotels that costs 1,238 Pounds a night with almost the same facility, Buhari chose to pay N1.1 million a night to enjoy himself.
The Presidential Suite, at 1,138 sq ft (106 sq m), lives up to its name with sophistication and elegance. Amenities include a Illy’s coffee machine, microwave and mini refrigerator for convenience. Buhari enjoyed lavish bath facilities such as a walk-in shower with picture window, oversized closet space, a private work area, dining area and more while having incredible views of the East River, Long Island City, downtown Manhattan and the East Side.
His two daughters according to reliable sources were also lodged in same hotel with the Nigerian Government coughing out 1,588.22 Pounds a night, which is worth N908,336 per day throughout the duration of their stay. They lodged in Duplex Two Bedroom Suites. Other Presidential aides took rooms with the least going for 482 Pounds a night at exchange rate that led to N275,833.
