Presidency of Fraud: How Former President Buhari Awarded N350 Million Contract To His Special Assistant On Youth & Students Affairs, Nasir Adhama

In most countries of the world, the expectation is always that as one climaxes in the hierarchy of power, the more adherent he or she will be in upholding the rule of law and the constitution of such a Nation.

However, investigations by this online media have continued to reveal that the reverse seems to be the case in Nigeria. Fresh discovery by SecretReporters unearthed how a public servant in the apex power or authority was complicit in contract racketeering, flagrantly disregarding the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We gathered that Nasir S Adhama, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Youth & Students Affairs from 2016 to 2023, was involved in contract racketeering to the sum of three hundred and fifty million, five thousand nine hundred and fifty naira (350,005,950.00).

Data on the Nigerian Open Contracting Portal (NOCOPO) have it that Nasir S Adhama, while on active duty, was part of key management personnel of a company that was used to receive a contract from the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.

The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing awarded the contract for the emergency repair of the Madalla-Jabi Road, Section Ii; Dei Dei-Karmo Road to Maditarian Blueline Ltd in 2018.  The contract has so far been completed.

Findings by SecretsReporters revealed that the company, Maditarian Blueline Ltd, has five key management personnel, among whom is Nasir S Adhama, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Youth & Students Affairs from 2016 to 2023.

It is pertinent to note that Section 6(B) of the Code Of Conduct Bureau And Tribunal Act states that except where he is not employed on a full-time basis, engage or participate in the management or running of any private business, profession, or trade; but nothing in this paragraph shall prevent a public officer from engaging in farming or participating in the management or running of any farm.
