The rot in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) if written may have Mr Godswill Akpabio as the number one on the list alongside his Interim Management Committee (IMC) members led by the duo of Prof. Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei who is the Acting Managing Director and Mr Cairo Ojugboh as Acting Executive Director (Projects) taking the number two and three positions respectively.
While Nigerians were home with the airports shut and land borders closed, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio alongside the IMC members devised a means to defraud the commission using a nonexistent project.
Documents seen by SecretReporters revealed that the sum of N34 million was paid out to Clear Point Communications Limited owned by husband and wife from Akwa Ibom State, as engagement to organize the Niger Delta Development Commission forum in Washington, United States. Curiously, such event has never held before in the history of the commission and the firm saddled with the responsibility is not known to handle any of such, until it was given to them by the Minister who hails from the same place with them.
This engagement was however not done as there was lockdown in Nigeria and the USA, as well as the ban on public gathering when the money was paid to Clear Point Communication.
Calls placed to the Acting MD who fainted during the investigative hearing on the N81 billion misappropriated funds to get his side of the story were not answered. He also did not reply to SMS sent to him as at press time.
Comment:All these criminal gangster’s should be executed fast for this country to move forward, especially Akpabio.
