In Secrets Reporters characteristic manner of exposing corrupt and fraudulent individuals, Private and Public agencies, our search light beamed on the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Dr.Thomas Agan, as our investigation proves that the CMD has looted funds meant for the payment of allowances of staffers in the hospital which was released by the Federal Government since 2013.
We can authoritatively report that, Dr. Thomas Agan had conducted secret employment in the hospital, despite the order that permission must be sought form the Federal Ministry of Health before employment should be done. This is done so as to cover up for the stolen money.
It has been the practice in the hospital for the CMD and his team to be diverting fund especially monies meant for workers in the hospital to a fixed deposit account where interest is generated for them.
The promotion arrears which was released to be paid to workers is yet to be paid because, the CMD has deem it fit not to do so in his looting capacity.
Highly placed sources in the office of the CMD told our reporter that the CMD has acquired an Estate in a choice area in Abuja and currently has another estate at Akpabuyo local Government Area in Cross River State.
The secret employment which Thomas conducted was to cover up for unaccounted monies which were released to him to cover his dirty dealings.
He’s not only a looting director but also a randy man. He is alleged to be in love with young girls which he takes to Abuja on routine visit.
We also gathered that, Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) in UCTH had embarked on a one week warning strike to press home their demands.
Although the hospital is still understaffed, this newspaper is reliably informed that the ethnic war is brewing in the hospital as the CMD is bent on favouring a particular tribe to soothe his selfish interest in a Federal Parastatal.
Efforts to speak with the hospital’s Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful as the number was unreachable.
