The many battles facing the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), caused by Mr. Godswill Akpabio’s alleged corrupt practices may soon come to an end; as President Muhammadu Buhari has concluded plans to remove the minister from his beat.
Multiple sources who spoke to SecretReporters noted that even though the President is ready to sack Akpabio, who currently heads the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, he has been prevailed upon not to do so, but to transfer him to another ministry.
This was made known to Akpabio by some key villa men, where he pleaded for mercy. We gathered that the Ministry of Petroleum (State) will now be given to him to oversee, with Buhari still remaining as the Petroleum Minister and the powers reside in the cabal, with Godswill as just a figure head.
Mr. Timipre Sylva, a strong ally of Buhari will be drafted to oversee the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. According to our sources, the President will constitute the NDDC board with a Bayelsa man as the Managing Director.
The names of the new board members will be sent to the Senate by April.
