Secret Reporters
Unless there is a sudden change of plans, Secret Reporters can reveal without doubt that the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Mr Festus Agas will be a regular guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) few weeks from now.
In a leaked chat seen between EFCC officials and some Anti Corruption fighters, it was noted that Agas was the Director General of the Direct Labor Agency (DG) who supplied gave contract for the supply of equipment for the sum of N1.58 billion to Mr Peter Nwaoboshi who is now a Senator representing Delta North. The equipment turned out to be used but was certified new by Agas and his team.
According to the chat, Agas was loaded with N150 million as bribe from the contract, even though his kickback should have been N250 million. We gathered that he will be invited to write statement concerning his role in the multibillion fraud for which Nwaoboshi will soon be arraigned.
According to a source, Agas will write a book full of statement and may be charged to court if the group that wrote the earlier petition writes to indict him.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who will proceed on vacation leave from next week may come back and meet his SSG in EFCC custody, as he may not easily be granted bail once he steps into Idiagbon House. His invitation letter will be typed any moment from now.
Calls placed to his line to confirm his involvement were not picked as at the time of going to press.
