The 2019 Senatorial ambition of Andy Uba may hit the rock, as he may be in prison while the election will be conducted.
This is not unconnected with a recent court order by Justice BFM Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja who gave a compelling order of Mandamus to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to arrest, interrogate and prosecute Uba for forgery.
In a suit seen by this newspaper and filed by Barrister Amobi Nzelu on February 16th, he prayed the court to direct the IG to begin criminal proceedings against Uba.
Having read the plea and sworn affidavit, an order was made that the applicant should apply for issuance of an order of Mandamus to begin the process of arresting the Senator.
Exhibits seen by Secret Reporters clearly revealed that Any Uba forged his WAEC certificate, with letter from the exam body confirming that they never issued Uba with certificate number 5C544753 which he’s parading. There was also a letter attached to the application from DIG Dagala, inviting Uba through the Senate President for interview on the fraud allegations on 24th August 2017 but in a twist on 30th August 2017, the IGP wrote to the DIG ordering him to return the case file to his office, and killed the case since then.
The Court has fixed March 26th 2018 for the hearing of the substantive motion on notice.
Calls placed to Uba to get his own side of the story were not picked, neither did he return the call before press time.
