The hope of Imolites for good governance may gradually be diminishing following activities in the state with the recent, appointments of some individuals as Hope New Media Director Generals by the state governor in various LGA across the Eastern Heartland formerly known as the Land of Hope.

According to the letters dated 22nd September 2020, seen by SecretReporters and signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on New and Electronic Media Mrs Amaka Okafor, the appointees are to serve as the eye and media head of the government and the Governor in their respective local government area.

The letter further stated that the appointments which were in line with the Governor’s order to deploy one media head to various LGAs were made to enable proper and prompt dissemination of information by the government of Senator Hope Uzodinma popularly known as the “Supreme Court Governor” after he was declared the winner of the 2019 Imo state gubernatorial election by the Apex court.

The appointees; Martin Okorowu for Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Sim Obi for Ideato North LGA, Engr. V.C. Anyanwu for Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA and Nwokoro Steve for Onuimo LGA SecretReporters learned are graduates who surprisingly will be pocketing a meagre N20,000 monthly with data subscription to carry out their duties.

Most Imolites have since bemoaned the appointments calling it a total waste of state funds especially as Pensioners and workers and in the state are allegedly being owed for over six months despite promises made by the Uzodinma led government.
