Executive recklessness, financial misappropriation, and arrogance are the major characteristics of public office holders nowadays in Nigeria who perhaps are ignorant of the fact that service to the people is simply a privilege.
The Director of Operations, Delta State Traffic Management Agency (DESTMA) Samuel Azubuike Idah, has proven that these characteristics are embedded in his DNA as despite his traffic offenses and convictions in the United States, he also seems to have become an executive hooligan and a tyrant who unleashes terror on staff members of DESTMA.
Information made available to SecretReporters reveals that on Wednesday 15th May 2019 at about 10 am, the DOP narrowly escaped been burnt alive after receiving a baptism of petrol from a man who alleged that he sent assassins to eliminate him.
The young man simply identified as Chris claimed to have sold a contract from the Rural Electrification Board at an undisclosed amount running into millions of Naira to Idah, and having received a part payment of the agreed amount was shocked to discover that instead of paying the outstanding balance to him at the agreed time, the DOP allegedly sent assassins to eliminate him.
It was gathered that the DESTMA boss who was visibly shaking after getting the shock of his life, had to run to his office for his dear life as several staff members of the agency who were present when the drama unfolded purportedly refused to come to his aid as a source who is a staff of the agency revealed that “had the assailant succeeded, it would have been good riddance to bad rubbish”.
Another source who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity alleged that “He is a very bad ambassador of the Okowa administration and he should be removed from the position because he lacks the decorum to hold such office which is meant for professionals”.
It would be recalled that in a previous report made by this online news medium, it was revealed that Samuel Idah who parades himself as a former Navy commander in the United States was never enlisted in the Navy nor has he ever donned its uniform.
And okowa left him in office for five years
