Unless there is a last minute change in plan, exclusive information available to Secrets Reporters reveals that the apex body of the Urhobo Nation, the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) may be misled to throw their support behind the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama as the Urhobo sole choice for the 2015 guber.
This scheme is part of Gov Uduaghan plot to pave the way for the emergence of his preferred candidates and ping pongs, Sir Anthony Chuks Obuh or Charles Emetulu. According to a reliable source who confided in this paper, Uduaghan alliance is not unconnected with the Uvwiamuge Declaration that an Urhobo must be the next governor of the State or risk losing it to the opposition.
The handwriting which has become glaring to the State Governor, has made him pitched his hypocrite tent of support for Utuama with the full knowledge that his Deputy cannot pull any weight during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries. The plot is conceived as a way of deceiving the UPU into adopting Utuama, who he knows to be the weakest Urhobo candidate among the quartet of David Edevbie, Kenneth Gbagi, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege and Utuama himself. His preference for Utuama we gathered made him arm-twist the UPU who listed his name as number five among the one submitted to the Presidency to be the State Governor come 2015
Haven done this and ensured that Utuama lose at the poll, he would tell the UPU and PDP National body that he supported whom they presented but the person lost democratically, an action which will tie the UPU hand from supporting another Urhobo, but dance along to support Obuh or Emetulu.
We gathered that a meeting will be held tomorrow which will determine the outcome of who UPU as well as the Governor will support. Meanwhile the PDP Primaries conducted on Saturday saw the Governor’s candidate losing his ward to another aspirant, as well as losing many others, who are thought to be supporting him, but dancing another tune.
