CORRUPT NIGER STATE GOVERNOR’S FILE: HOW HE SQUANDERED MILLIONS IN THE NAME OF REWARDING COMMISSIONERS (SERIES 1)

Secrets Reporters

While civil servants in Niger State complain about the poor standard of living caused by poor and late payment of salaries; the billboard governor and self acclaimed Chief Servant of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu Muazu is busy making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

In documents seen by Secrets Reporters which led to the forceful abduction of its Editorial Chairman, Fejiro Oliver by the Department of State Security Services (SSS) under the instruction of the Niger State Government where he was put in SSS detention for 3 days and prison for 11 days, we can authoritatively report that millions of Naira which would have made impact on the lives of citizens were thrown at the feet of four commissioners in the name of hardwork.

The document with memo number SSG/S/033, dated January 2, 2012 and signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Daniel C. Shashere; the commissioner for education, Dr Peter Sale Sarki was rewarded with a cash price of N5 million and a land at the Three-Arms Zone which is close to the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat.

The memo read: ‘Following council decision to reward public office holders who distinguished themselves in the discharge of their duties during the period 2007-2011, the Government of Niger State has decided to reward you with cash price of N5 million and a plot of land at the Three-Arms-Zone’. The memo stated that he was voted third position thus qualifying for the award.

The Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matene was not left out of the largesse as he smiled to the bank with N9 million and a plot of land at the same area. His position was not stated.
Frisking away the State treasury, the Chief of Staff was stoned the sum of N9 million and a plot of land at the same place. His position like Matene was also left out in the memo.

Another beneficiary of the largesse was the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural development, Dr Ibrahim Babamini Sule. He was made N9 million richer with similar plot of land. Ironically he was stated as taking the first position in the council judgment.
It is not clear what parameters were used in judging the quartet that were made wealthier by the common wealth of Nigerlites.

According to sources who confided in us, the many corrupt acts of the governor is the reason behind his desperate bid to impose his stooge on the state as the next governor, knowing that he will be facing the jailer if another person is elected.

He is currently gunning for a slot at the Nigerian Senate which has become a retired home for looters of its nation.
