Available statistics from the National Assembly has shown that, out of the 3.47 billion Naira which was given as Akwa Ibom state allocation for constituency allowance, the weak senator representing Eket senatorial district in the senate, Nelson Effiong, got 1.2billion Naira as his share for the senatorial district, sources at the National Assembly confided in us, on our fact finding mission, as we can exclusively report.
Our investigations have revealed that, from the over one billion Naira collected by Nelson Effiong for constituency projects, the money has gone down the drain, as he has built two Porsche houses for himself in Uyo, when he had nothing during his term as the state House of Assembly speaker.
Nelson has maximized every opportunity to enrich himself with the common wealth of the people, including collecting bogus salary and other allowances, without any form of empowerment to the people of the senatorial district, in his 19months wasteful sojourn in the senate.
Findings have shown that, the last time Nelson Effiong appeared in a function in the state, was at a PDP rally in Eket, where he hurriedly left the venue of the event to avoid tongue bashing from his constituents.
Further findings reveal that, in December, 2015, the senator who does not have even a pin to his name as constituency project, was at Ikot Abasi, where he promised the people of the Local Government that he will build a civic centre for them, but nothing has been done or heard from him, since his mouth watering promises.
Indigenes of the local government said, they have been on the lookout for him to fulfill his promise to them, but to no avail, as he continues to hide from them.
