LYING EX GOV. PETER OBI LEFT N120 BILLION AS DEBT FOR ANAMBRA STATE

As the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi bask in the euphoria of his successful deceit that he left N75 billion in the state coffers, revelations coming reveals the opposite.

According to a group, Anambra State Concerned Professionals, Mr Obi’s claim is only a smoke screen and chicanery aimed at self aggrandizement. According to the former Governor, the bank balances as at March 14, 2014 was N11.5 billion, Federal Government Approved Refund was N10 billion while the Foreign Currency Investment stood at N26 billion.

Other amount he left included investment in INTAFACT (SabMillier- brewers of Hero Beer) which he quoted as N3.5 billion, while Orient Petroleum Resources Plc has an amount of N4 billion. The Onitsha Hotel and Agulu Lake Hotel according to the Governor has in its account N1 billion each. Surprisingly enough, most of these investments and sundry others have questionable background, as the ex governor is alleged to have used his company, NEXT INTERNATIONAL to acquire them, while owning the majority shares in others such as Awka Shopping Plaza.

Mr Obi who gave even the account of N1 billion in others systematically refused to disclose what investment has N8 billion in its account, as he merely stated ‘others’. This ‘others’ which houses such a whooping amount is already generating furore in the State, as tongues are wagging that the money has been siphoned by Obi into his personal account.

The woman looking Governor collects about N450 million monthly as security votes but information made available to us reveals that the Governor stopped spending the money since 2012, when SURE-P account was opened. According to Anambra State Concerned Professionals, the community vigilante groups were being funded by the Local Government SURE-P account with Skye Bank, of which N2.7 billion was recently spent for the purchase of vehicles.

The professional groups stated that contrary to the N75 billion claims by Mr Obi, he rather left liabilities worth N120 for Governor Willie Obiano to tackle. It will be recalled that Obi had sworn an oath that if he ever steals one kobo of Anambra money, God should kill him and his Children
