What began as a hopeful journey toward a Canadian dream has now turned into a tale of frustration, unanswered calls, and a paper trail of alleged broken promises, involving Nigerian engineer Solomon Onitsha and Canada-based agent, Evi Eni Oghenehoro, owner of Empirefly International with registration number 3455306.

In 2023, Solomon Onitsha, a Nigeria-based engineer with aspirations of furthering his career abroad, reached out to Eni Oghenehoro, the owner of Empirefly International, whose listed addresses include 440 Laurier Ave. W, Suite 5, 2nd Floor, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and No. 93a Kwame Nkrumah Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria, a company he floated on August 23rd, 2021.

Like a fisherman casting his net into deep waters, Solomon entrusted his future into the hands of the agent, hoping for a smooth visa pathway to Canada, a process that has cost him over nine million, two hundred thousand Naira (9,200,000). According to the arrangement, Oghenehoro advised that the most viable route was through a study permit.

Before the wheels of the process began turning, Solomon was asked to pay half of the service charge. Trusting the process, he transferred N924,000 in two installments to Oghenehoro to kick-start the application journey.

Solomon told SecretsReporters that by December 2023, Oghenehoro had submitted three applications to different schools in Canada. However, the early optimism soon began to fade, as communication and follow-up allegedly became inconsistent on the part of the agent.

Months later, in April 2024, Solomon was informed that one of the schools had offered him admission. Not long after, another admission offer surfaced from a second institution, leaving him in a confusing crossroads, eventually leading him to settle for Holland College in Canada.

Determined not to lose momentum, Solomon reportedly borrowed funds and paid the school fees amounting to 5,000 Canadian dollars, which was duly acknowledged by Holland College.

Earlier, the Empirefly International’s boss had told Solomon that either he or a friend in Canada should handle the payment, maintaining that he could not pay fees as he was an immigration lawyer and restricted from such transactions.

Solomon told our Reporter that the financial requirements for the visa process also demanded that he maintain at least N40 million in his account for a month, a benchmark he reportedly met in order to strengthen his application.

At some point, Solomon received a message from the agent stating that his application had been submitted to the embassy, accompanied by what appeared to be proof of submission. But after that, silence allegedly became the loudest response, as results never came and explanations remained vague.

Repeated attempts by Solomon to reach Oghenehoro reportedly hit a brick wall, as calls and messages went unanswered, leaving him stranded in a fog of uncertainty while his dream hung in limbo.

In a surprising twist, Oghenehoro later advised Solomon’s wife to process her passport, suggesting she could pursue a different pathway since she was under 40, a move that further deepened the confusion surrounding the original application.

By December 2025, Solomon demanded to see the school’s refusal letter. To his shock, he was sent a rejection letter dated June 2024; an 18-month-old document he claimed had been withheld from him all along. From that moment, communication reportedly ceased completely.

Efforts to secure a refund of the school fees from Holland College through the agent also reportedly failed, as Oghenehoro allegedly went silent and remained unreachable despite repeated appeals.

In early 2026, Solomon took matters into his own hands, tracking Oghenehoro to his Abuja office, only to discover that the agent was no longer operating from the location.

Solomon told our Reporter that the whole process cost him over Over N9 Million. He also noted that although Oghenehoro is based in Canada, he was known to frequent his Abuja office until his clandestine relocation from his Abuja office and turning deaf ears to his calls and messages.
