Business and politics are two parallel lines but when it is forced to meet at some point it is supposed to produce better living conditions in terms of infrastructural development and economic reforms as it becomes a coalition of great minds. This, however, depends on the purpose for which it was brought together and the pedigree of those who brought it together. In Nigeria, the eastern region seems to be behind the wheel in driving business and have become very prosperous in this regard as it is evident that they are naturally endowed with special business echelons and skills with undeniable ability to survive in very harsh and unfavorable regions hence they are found in almost every part of the world.

However, in a bid to remain influential and expand their tentacles, these eastern business moguls have become the financial muscle of political aspirants in various parts of the country. This is following information made available to SecretReporters which alleges that Emeka Offor an oil magnate and one of the richest men in Anambra State with net worth of over $5.8 billion dollars as well as the chairman of the board of directors of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) almost single-handedly financed the election and re-election of the former governor of Bauchi State Adamu Muazu who was governor from 29th May 1999 to 29th May 2007 after reaching an agreement to be given access to explore the natural resources of the state.

Bauchi State which is rich in natural resources with a massive concentration of mineral deposits like Gold, Cassiterite (tin ore), Columbite, Gypsum, Wolfram, Coal, Limestone, Lignite and Iron ore have unfortunately been plagued with the issues of lack of exploration and mining of these God-given resources which is supposed to act as a catalyst for the total transformation of the state. Currently, only the state capital Bauchi has experienced some level of development in the state as it is the only area that its resources have been harnessed evidently with the presence of a handful of industries and Central Bank of Nigeria where money is been circulated to other banks that operate within the capital.

SecretReporters further gathered that the Emeka Offor on seeing the porosity of the state on what appears to be the financial handicap nature of the people of the state cunningly sponsored the election of the former governor of Bauchi State Adamu Muazu to victory so as to be able to explore a large chunk of the natural resources of the state in other to fill his already overflowing accounts.

It was also alleged that Adamu Muazu consented to the investment proposal of the chairman of the Chrome group which eventually led to the availability of massive funds for his electoral campaign.

It should be noted that sometime in 2017 there were allegations that this Anambra born controversial government contractor and multibillionaire is broke and have been unable to pay staff salaries for a long time which resulted in his shutting down activities in most of his companies.
