Secret Reporters
Revelations have emerged in Delta State Polytechnic Oghara, as Mrs.Clara Sogbaike, Rector of the Institution and Andy Asawota, who is the Chairman, Governing Council have made attempts to bribe EFCC and ICPC officials who are currently investigating them, to help them scuttle investigations.
Investigations reveal that, the 3.3 million Naira approved for the Governing Council members which was for 10 members, and stood at 33million Naira for the purchase of generators for their private use, which we had reported, with the approval numbers on the voucher, those generators were never bought, as we gathered that, the generator was only used as a cover, to secure enough money to bribe the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission(ICPC) officials.
Due to Secret Reporters expose on the fraud rocking the institution, information squealed to our medium is that, the management was summoned to Asaba to answer on charges, relating to the approvals of such bogus amount for generators, which the Delta State Executive Council, cannot approve that for themselves.
The Governing Council Chairman had earlier gone to the police headquarters in Abuja, in a bid to also stop the police from furthering the case, when he lied to the police authority that he was sent by the Governor through the Commissioner for Higher Education, Mr.Jude Sinebe to resolve the matter amicably, that the principal officers of the Institutions were too big, and could not leave the school.
The Governing Council Chairman, Asawata, met one ACP Okoro, who is Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of IGP monitoring unit, through CSP Usman Danlatu and refused to effect their arrest, when he said that his men will travel to Delta State to obtain statements from the Rector and her accomplices.
True to his words, after his palms were greased by the Governing Council Chairman, ACP Okoro sent his men to Delta State, where they were treated to a fun fare, and they reluctantly obtained statements in the comfort of the Rector’s office, leaving the Rector with several boasts, that she had settled thee police from the top, and could not be arrested.
Contrary to his claim, Jude Sinebe, the Commissioner, in a chat with Secret Reporters, denied ever making any representation to the police authority, as he stated that, people should desist from using his name, to perpetrate evil.
