YET AGAIN, 13 YEAR OLD GIRL ABDUCTED IN BAUCHI FOR FORCED MARRIAGE WITH EMIR AND POLICE CONSENT

The child marriage currently bedeviling Nigeria, may not end soon, as the country’s police continues to compromise on the child right issue.

Investigations have revealed that, a 13year minor, Alheri Bawa has been abducted in Bauchi State, by one Mallam Dauda Buba, who lives adjacent Nehima Clinic, GRA, Bauchi State.

Lamenting his ordeal to Secret Reporters, the father of the minor, Pastor Bawa Buba, who is a former pastor of RCCG Miya and presently an ordained Elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Miya, Bauchi State, said, Mallam Dauda abducted his daughter, and forcefully converted her to Islam.

When he approached him and tried getting back his daughter, Dauda told him his 13year daughter has been converted to islam and married off.

According to our findings, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu, is aware of the case, and has said and that the victim’s father should forget about the return of his daughter.

Further findings reveal that, the matter was reported at the Bauchi State Police Command, GRA Division Headquarters Bauchi, where the policeman in charge of the case, Inspector Abdulraman Dass, told the minor’s father that only the Bauchi State Sharia Commission GRA Bauchi can release the girl from her abductor, Dauda Buba, because he reported to them before abducting and converting the 13 year old girl.

Furthermore, the police Division DCO, ASP Joseph dismissed the family from the station and asked them to go to Court, after they had agreed to release the girl, when Dauda Buba the abductor came to the station, and spoke with the policemen, only for them to rescind, when the abductor called the Sharia Commission, and they came to tell the policemen that the girl cannot be released to the father.

The victim’s father, unable to secure the release of his daughter, and without money to hire a lawyer,also due to the complicity of the police and the involvement of the Emir of Bauchi, has since returned to his village, Behind Miya Central Mosque, Miya, Ganjuwa LGA Bauchi State.
