Against the Nigerian public service law which stipulates that every government jobs must be advertised, the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has scored another low, by giving out jobs to sons, daughters and relations of cronies, political chieftains through the Federal Government controlled Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele who is desperate to keep his job despite being criticized as being unqualified to manage the economy is in the centre of the storm. The news which came out over the weeks revealed that Emefiele has secretly employed the children of many top Nigerians to the detriment of deserving ones, which is an act of nepotism and favoritism, an offence in civil service employment in Nigeria.

That is not however the news, as the documents showing the names of the newly hired staff clearly shows that 93 percent of those on the list are from Buhari’s region, with the only South South person on the list being his boss, Ibe Kachikwu’s son.

Emefiele who is from Delta State, South South part of the country we gathered decided to secretly employ only children and relatives of influential Northen politicians who he believes can talk to the President to keep his job.

To cement his stand, he employed the son of Maman Daura, a cousin of Buhari and his closet confidante who goes by the name Ibrahim Ahmed Lawan on page 1, number 37 on the list. He also employed the son of the Minister of Petroleum (State) Ibe Kachikwu who goes by the name Ejike Emmanuel Ibe on page one, number 25, as well as Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s daughter on Number 60, while cloning the other names secretly, to avoid linking it to their fathers and mothers.

The list had just 14 Yorubas while only 11 Igbo names were on the list.
