ACADEMIC FAMILY CABAL: RECTOR’S FRAUDULENT PRACTICES IN DELTA STATE POLYTECHNIC OGHARA; AS DAUGHTER AND FRIENDS ARE PLACED ON HIGHER SALARIES THAN OTHERS ON SAME LEVEL

Documents in our possession have revealed monumental fraud rocking the Delta state Polytechnic, Oghara, involving, Sogbaike Ibukun Modupe, who is Accountant 2, the daughter of the Rector of the institution, Dr.(Mrs).Clara Sogbaike.

Revelations on this fraud shows that, the friends of the Rector’s children also collect higher pay in the polytechnic above their colleagues which they were employed together.

We have gathered that, Contract staff in the Institution and casual staff earn as low as N25,000., while the Bursar, Mr. Napoleon Akpubi, employed his biological son, Teddy Akpubi who was employed previously as a casual staff in August 2013, and as a fresh graduate, was initially place on a salary of N25,000, was recently upgraded to a salary of N88,578 after tax, paid into his Ecobank account number 2721215573 as reflected in our document.

Not left out in the fraud is the internal Auditor of the school, Mr.Sylvester Okah who employed his cousin, Ese Okah as a contract staff, and placed him on a salary of N88,578 after tax, paid into his GTB account number 0002112982 as reflected in documents in our possession.

Other fresh graduates who are linked to the Rector and her children, are also enlisted to the over N88,000 salary package, they include; Osarieyeyekemwen D, Akponome Stella, Onwuegbuzie A, and Umukoro Efe Marshal who are fresh graduates while others with same qualifications who are not connected to the management are placed at N25,000 in complete violation and disregard to the terms and conditions for employment of contract staff in the institution.

Findings reveal that, Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara has been turned to a family school where the Rector and her children, including the Bursar and the Internal Auditor employs whoever they wish, whether with qualification or not, while others who are loyal to the cabal enjoys benefits with high pay.

Although the Rector had warned one of our Editors not to call her again, As at the time of going to press, the Public Relations Officer of the Institution was contacted, but did not respond to the details of the subject matter which was sent to him as sms.
