I understand NMA and NUT fears on schools resuming in the face of this Ebola threat to the nation, but as at the time of writing this article, no confirmed case of Ebola Disease is in any Nigeria Hospital.
The reason is simple, education of our children is important so is their health, all we need is preventive measures to be put in place. So school can resume if necessary measures can be put in place, already 1.9billion Naira has been released to fight this outbreak.
The children, guidance and teachers should be educated by medical laboratory scientist and other relevant health officers nation wide on how to prevent contacting the infectious virus.
Ebola test kits should be supplied to all medical facilities nationwide to test every child going back to school before the new resumption date.
Infrared thermometer should be provided in every school nationwide, there are a thousand plus qualified medical personel who can be called upon nation wide to handle the screening.
Each child who come to school on a daily basis should be screened before gaining entrance into any school facility and anyone with symptoms is quickly isolated and sent to quarantine centers.
Hand sanitizers should be provided in every school in the country to promote hygiene among school children.
We can not keep the children at home, but we can provide safety measures that will ensures their safety.
