Secrets Reporters
The Niger State Medium prison which came into prominence following the abduction of a Nigerian Journalist, Fejiro Oliver by the men of the State Security Service (SSS) under the directive of the State Governor, Aliyu Babangida Muazu and was kept there for eleven days has been broken down to pieces with majority of the inmates escaping.
Secrets Reporters gathered that some armed men stormed the off David Mark road area of Tunga on December 6th shooting sporadically in the air; overpowered the security guards on duty and almost killing one of them. They went straight to the prison gate and tore it to shreds, while opening the doors for the inmates to escape. Some of the prisoners we gathered took guns from them to fire into the air.
In an exclusive anonymous conversation with a warder, we gathered that most of the inmates who escaped are those in the convict and condemned section, with some of them illegally sentenced to such imprisonment even when their case could have been struck off or allowed to go with bail conditions.
The escaped inmate according to our source got away with the use of an ash colored Sienna space bus which was snatched from the owner before they escaped into the bush.
The source who confided in us stated that contrary to reports that some of them has been re-captured; the truth is that over 80 percent of them are still at large, with no hope of capturing them, since the ones that escaped are ‘armed robbers’. The injured warder is however recovering stated our reliable source.
