INSIDE STORY HOW AKS PDP PLOTTED TO REPLACE DEAF AND DUMB SENATOR NELSON EFFIONG WITH ORMAN ESIN, WHICH LED TO HIS DEFECTION (PART ONE)

As controversies continues to surround the decampment of Akwa Ibom born Nigeria’s laziest senator Nelson Effiong from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), sources informed Secret Reporters that, the grand plan to oust Nelson Effiong from the Senate in the next elections, led to his untimely exit.

During the last yuletide season, when political office holders came back to the state, to celebrate with their constituents, Nelson was nowhere to be found, as more anger poured in.

Findings reveal that, like the prodigal son, Nelson Effiong escaped coming home, and chose to remain in Abuja, a source who spoke with our medium said.

We gathered that, due to non performance in the senate, and for the series of complaints from the people of the senatorial district and the outcry of not seeing their senator, the PDP went back to the drawing board.

In a high powered meeting of the PDP held in Uyo, last month, it was unanimously agreed that, a replacement be sought to replace the non performing Senator to salvage the party from losing out in the Senatorial district.

Highly placed sources said, Orman Esin, who is the present Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum in the state, was favoured to fly the PDP flag and take over the senate seat in 2019, who has also been a former Local Government council Chairman in Oron.

We further gathered that, the choice of Esin was made, mainly for coming from the same federal constituency with Nelson, and was seen as one who will win the ticket.

Although, the choice of Orman did not go down well with all stakeholders, he was kept in view, for the party to also explore other options.

When Nelson got wind of the information, he began his plot, to play a fast one on the party and embarrass them, before he was embarrassed. Nelson met secretly with top leaders of the party, where his acceptance was agreed, and he was instructed to use the division at the National level of the party as an excuse for decamping.

Although, he is seen as a political liability, the APC were concerned with having a senator from the party, at the floor of the senate. A source said.
