Offence of rape is the third highest offence in Nigeria, with severe punishment of jail sentence. But money, fame and connection has turned the punishment of rape to promotion and exaltation of the alleged rapist.
Secret Reporters got exclusive information on Miss Simeobong Nkang , a level 300 student of UNICAL in Law Faculty. Miss Nkang was said to have written her test in class with other students at the time of the test but professor Ndifon tore her test script and asked her to come rewrite it later in his office(to carry out his evil act). Miss Nkang went for her test without knowledge of the evil planned by her lecturer. After the rape incident Miss Nkang reported the case to Airport road police station, calabar, which took the authorities 6 days to come investigate the scene (meaning all evidence has been cleared). The case was later transferred to the state criminal investigation department, calabar and later to the state police headquarters, diamond hill, calabar.
Professor Ndifon was suspended by UNICAL amidst this fracas. Finally the case was moved to an NGO (Nigerian feminist group) who then moved the matter to the force headquarters, Abuja, seeking justice for Miss Nkang.
A recent ruling in court exonerated professor Ndifon of rape. Secret Reporters learnt he will be making a big entrance in UNICAL Faculty of Law not as a criminal but as the Dean of Law Faculty, leaving Miss Nkang with no justice, and the perpetrator in a high position to commit more hideous crimes to innocent students with no voice.
Was there enough evidence to ascertain the lecturer actually perpetuated that act ? what if the lecturer was framed ?
