Immediate past governor of Delta State, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa was a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last week, SecretsReporters can authoritatively report.
The arrest and detention was kept secret from Deltans to avoid the embarrassment and humiliation it will cause Okowa but this medium was able to gather that his detention was in EFCC Zonal office, where litany of petitions against him were submitted.
Before his detention in the custody, his bank account statements including his daughters and aides were obtained. All his properties including the ones belonging to his family members and kids have also been identified. For the three days that he was kept in custody, his phone numbers were unreachable.
Ijaw elder statesman, Mr Edwin Clark had also submitted a petition against the Ex Governor, requesting the EFCC to investigate the over N600 billion diverted from the state’s treasury. A group we gathered was invited by the EFCC in Port Harcourt, to also adopt their water tight petition against him as well where they alleged that be mismanaged N600 billion and diverted same.
Okowa has been asked to return to the commission by the end of October for further interrogation.
Okowa is going there for more experience. He deserves 15 years in prison.
How happy i am to hear this, i was beginning to think that because he has close relationship with pa Atiku and pa Daura there will be authorities strong to apprehend him.
Okowa, the governor of the richest oil producing states, but named as the poorest oil producing states with humongous FAAC pay, Delta is practically empty of infrastructures but is working with bridges the that bring huge stealing.
The only thing which brought abject poverty poor Deltan’s together, Delta line, Okowa sold sold it for the benefit of his private accounts.
Deltans wants the Delta line back now and not tomorrow.
I just hope that with this open reports, Delta and Deltan’s will come back as vibrant as it as Midwestern Region and Bendel state?
Delta does not have functioning.towns and villages with all the monies earned..
No one is bigger than the law.
When one makes himself touchable by daring what is not his personal belongings or benefit in government, then he deserves the touch of embarrassment.
If these fraudsters in government are disgracefully touched, it will then stands as a deterrent for others to thread cautiously with fear for consequences of such act.
I wonder if they have sense of thinking 🤔 that one day the table will turn around against them and what is the price allows people to passed through difficulty in life without having understanding that one day death ☠️ can visit them also
