The mark of effective leadership and representation is the provision of basic social amenities and ensuring the availability of infrastructures across the length and breadth of each region using available resources.
This is not the case of Ogun State which has been described as hopeless despite the eight (8) year tenure of Governor Ibikunle Amosun under the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In a gubernatorial debate organized by BBC Yoruba in Ogun State recently, SecretReporters gathered that a stooge of the incumbent governor, Adekunle Akinlade who practically washed the dirty linen of his benefactor outside, described the state as hopeless and without any trace of effective representation and leadership.
In his words, he described the governor as a figure who has only used the resources of the state for his own selfish gains; an action which has rendered the people of the state hopeless, hence his decision to run for governorship under the platform of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in other to change the ugly trend.
“I have covered 211 wards in Ogun state and I have seen the hopelessness of people,” he said.
This statement, however, was greeted with shock and surprises which was evidently written all over the faces of the audience at the debate as Adekunle Akinlade is seen as a stooge and an indisputable beneficiary of the purported ineffectiveness of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Confirming the indictment of the Governor by his stooge, another gubernatorial aspirant, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka at the debate thanked Adekunle Akinlade for being truthful and opined that since 2011 he has covered the whole 236 wards three to four times and has seen the hopelessness of the people proving that the governor has failed the state.
Recall that Adekunle Akinlade defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) having lost the governorship ticket to Dapo Abiodun despite all efforts put in place by the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun to make him secure it.
