OBASANJO WRITES AGAIN! WITHDRAWS FROM PDP

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has formally withdrawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while still maintaining his membership.
In a letter dated 7th January 2014 and addressed to the party’s National Chairman and President Goodluck Jonathan,
he noted that he could not be in a party that has Buruji  Kashamu as its South West leader. According to the former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, he finds it unsavory that Kashamu has been so extolled in the South West under the PDP, despite the fact that he is a known habitual criminal who is wanted abroad to face criminal charges.

In the letter, he attached documents to prove his point that Kashamu should not be the zonal leader if politics must be played by morality, decency, discipline and principles. 
“While I stick to my practice of party politics to the hallowed and cherished principles enunciated above, I take this opportunity to let you know that while I remain a card –carrying member of PDP, I cannot and will not subscribe to a habitual criminal being installed as my zonal leader in the party; a criminal for whom extradition has been requested by the US government. In the meantime, I will consider withdrawing my activity with the PDP at Local, State, Zonal and National levels until the anomalous and shameful situation is corrected” stated the three paragraph letter.
The letter was obtained by the Nigeria Tribune and was confirmed by us from sources within the ex president camp to be true.
