AND THE MEDIA LIED: NO NIGERIAN WAS LOCKED OUT OF BUHARI’S TOWN HALL MEETING IN USA

Contrary to news making the round by some media (Secrets Reporters excluded) that Nigerians based in the United States were barred from attending town hall meeting organized for Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to the State to see President Barrack Obama, we can report that such never happened.
According to information pieced together by Secrets Reporters, the event was actually put together by the United States Institute for Peace (USIP) and not the Nigerian Embassy in the US as being reported.
The organizers of the meeting we gathered mandated those who wanted to attend including the media to register and reserve a seat on their website, www.usip.org/events, which many people did, but noted that it was based on first come, first enter basis since they have limited seats for the first 500 persons.
For those who will not be opportune to enter the hall due to the limited space, they were directed to watch the streaming online through the webcast.
This however caused uproar at the venue, as those who came with invitation met the gate locked, including some media houses.
