On July 15th 2010, the people of Niger State were duped by the collective duo of immediate past governor, Mr Babangida Aliyu and his Secretary to the State Government, Mr Muhammed K. Yahaya without any approval from the State Executive Council (SEC) Secret Reporters can authoritatively report.

In a memo sent to Aliyu on the said date with subject matter as ‘Request for funds to address urgent state and security issues’. Yahaya brazenly ordered the Ministries of Finance and Local Government to raise N100 million in the ratio of 50:50 which they promptly obliged to without any question.

In the document obtained by Secret Reporters, he stated that the major need for the fund was an accident which happened at the entrance to the college of Education, Minna where two persons, a student and the motorcyclist taking her to school died.

The students who only came out to see their dead colleagues were the fraudulent tools used in looting the state of N100 million. Yahaya we gathered used the opportunity of students’ sympathizing with their dead colleague with some abandoning lectures as an avenue, and conspired with Aliyu who was away from the state then to call it protest.
Playing a fast one on Nigerlites, Yahaya who had already taken delivery of the N100 million and shared with the governor wrote few days later for approval from the governor when he came back from Abuja, which was quickly assented to.

The former governor stole over N60 billion in his eight years in office, sources alleged.
