The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) which is notorious for evading tax payment to the Federal Government is in scandal again as multiple sources within the hospital have told us that they have been out of power supply for over two weeks running due to the management inability to pay the electricity bill.

The Hospital we gathered is currently facing serious financial challenges despite huge fees charged patients, yet they are still unable to buy diesel to power the hospital generator. Only the administrative blocks we gathered is supplied with light as they could not afford to power the big generator meant to serve the patients.
Some of the wards and department which are in dire need of power supply but are not supplied include Accident and Emergency (A&E), Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Pediatrics, Mental Health, Physiotherapy, Children Orthopedics and few others
Despite this financial downturn, the hospital we gathered pulled out a whooping sum of N12 million to buy a Jeep for the immediate past Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Sanya Adejuyigbe for possibly running the hospital underground.
The patients we gathered who are taxed to pay exorbitant fee without adequate treatment are already complaining of the hospital mismanagement. The acting CMD is Prof Owotade.
