The Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] in Lagos State has sacked its party chairman, Captain Tunji Shele.
Captain Shele was unanimously sacked by 34 members of the state working committee who declared vote of no confidence on the embattled chairman.
The sacked chairman was accused by committee of mismanagement of election campaign funds, and manipulating party’s primary last year which ultimately led to the defeat of the PDP at polls.
Captain Shele has been on the news recently for calling for the resignation of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assemly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji.
The ousted chairman is forthwith replaced by secretary of the party in the Lagos state, Hon. Wahab Owokoniran.
The Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State politics has been getting weaker and more factionalized since 1999 in the lagoon city as every attempt by the PDP to win the governorship election of Lagos state has been unsuccessful since 1999.
