The stubborn Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur who is believed to be the PDP problem has agreed to go as the party’s Chairman.
Multiple sources within the Presidency and the PDP revealed squealed to SecretsReporters that President Goodluck Jonathan who would have wanted him to stay called him to the Aso Villa and told him of plans by the party National Working Committee (NWC) to pass a vote of no confidence on him on Thursday, January 16th.
Mr Jonathan we gathered pleaded with him to save face by tendering his resignation letter, with the promise of a political position. Mr Tukur who had no choice thanked the President for standing by him during the storm and gave him his word to tender his resignation letter, stated our sources.
We gathered that he went to the Wadata Plaza in Wuse 5, Abuja where he drafted a three paragraph resignation letter dated 15th January 2014, but will take effect from January 16th after the Armed forces remembrance day. Part of the agreement reached in the course of their meeting is that the outgoing PDP Chairman will have a hand in the selection of who replaces him, confirmed a source.
