Nigeria famous and Africa’s richest black man, Aliko Dangote is notoriously known for monopolizing the Nigeria economy.
What the world may not know is that his fleets of vehicles are the worst when it comes to ramming into other vehicles and killing Nigerians in the process. On 17th March 2014, one of his Lorries ran into another popular transport company, God is Good Motors, thereby killing all the passengers on board the bus and lorry.
Two of the passengers killed are couple who were billed to get married next month, April 19th with all preparations concluded. According to a source, Juliet Oyemwen Igbinoba, a 29 years old lady was travelling home to inform her people when the fatal accident happened along the Lagos-Benin road. She was a staff of Fouani Nig Limited and an Accounting graduate of Auchi Polytechnic Edo State.
Her husband to be, Engr Okhuoya, an engineer and staff of BEDC, Uromi District who was on a two week vacation to Ghana had just returned and was with her on that ill-fated trip. He is from Ikhin, in Owan, Edo State.
Instead of compensating the families of the passengers who lost their lives, we gathered that the Dangote Management quickly doused the tension by bribing the Journalists who rushed to the venue to report the event. God is Good Motors who feared for the negative publicity also did same by paying millions to pressmen to kill the story.
Dangote who did a publicity stunt by advertising for drivers and told the world that PhD holders also applied we gathered sacked almost all the drivers later, while information available to us is that no PhD driver truly applied. “It was all gimmick”, said a source.
