The Department of State Security (DSS) who got the shock of their lives today when the dreaded Boko Haram sect paid them a visit are still at shock how the group were able to penetrate the impregnable defence of the SSS Headquarters. In a move to cover up their security inefficiency, the SSS has resorted to issue out statement which sources who witnessed the attack described as untrue.
According to the SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, “At 0715 hours, the Service suspect handler went to the detention facility within the Headquarters to feed the suspects. One of the suspects attempted to disarm him by hitting him at the back of his head with his handcuff. His attempt to escape drew the attention of other guards at the facility who fired some shots to warn and deter others.

“The gun shots attracted the attention of the military with whom we have an understanding of mutual assistance in the event of any threat. The Army immediately deployed a team to reinforce our perimeter guards to forestall any external collaborators. The situation has since been brought under control.”
However beyond this façade lies the real truth according to multiple sources. One of Abuja’s resident, Fani Kayode who happened to be a former Minister of Aviation punctured hole in the SSS statement, saying “”If anyone honestly believes that this was just an attempted jail break by a member of BH that was in SSS custody then that person cannot be very clever. When will these people stop telling us lies. The truth is that BH stormed the SSS headquarters early this morning and held the Nigerian army and operatives of the SSS at bay in a brutal and protracted gun battle for no less than 3 hours. Hundreds of soldiers were deployed from the army barracks just up the road. I know this because I saw them as they drove past my house in convoy and with all manner of sophisticated weapons. I live 50 metres away from the SSS Headquarters and 100 metres away from the Villa gate. I saw and heard it all and it was very frightening and members of my household and staff all took cover. Kudos to our military and our SSS operatives, who stood their ground, fought a good fight and defeated the enemy. Had it not been for them the BH flag would have been flying over the SSS Headquarters this morning and BH would have been in full control of the Aso Drive area of Abuja and the Presidential Villa.
Another Nigeria high profile personality also countered the SSS claim, saying “Whatever this is, it appears more serious than an attempted jailbreak claimed by the SSS. May God Protect the innocent and destroy the murderers, kidnappers and planners of genocide, Amen.”
We however gathered from a reliable source that the insurgents surpassed the SSS in warfare, but were only overpowered when the Soldiers came in to help them. He noted that for over two hours, the sect battled the Nigeria security and freeing some of their detained members, which led to the killing of 18 of them as they tried to escape. He confided in Elombah.com that some of the sect members escaped and were not seen, but declined to mention how many of them escaped.
A Presidential source squealed to Elombah.com that while the shooting lasted, security personnels were drafted to the Villa to personally surround the President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan where he was whisked away to an unknown place with the Presidential arena. Our source however noted that the President never jittered despite the heavy sound but remained calm.
Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati through his twitter handle stated that “What happened at the SSS HQs has nothing to do with the Villa. President Jonathan is safe and well. Thank you for your concern & support. What happened at the SSS HQ this morning was an attempted jailbreak which has been effectively foiled. There is no cause for alarm.”
We gathered that the DSS has begun investigation into the attack, wondering how the sect was able to stage such a daring escapade, if an insider has not given them information. Some heads within the SSS are bound to roll stated a source to Elombah.com
