As notorious as ever, this time, Delta State Deputy Speaker, Mr Friday Osanebi has carried out another undemocratic act by insisting to decide how the budget brought before the house will be debated upon.
According to our source, Osanebi is in the habit of deciding the sharing formula of the Ndokwa East LGA budget which goes through the legislative arm of the council before approval.
This was not to be the case on September 14th when the lawmakers decided to bypass him to pass the budget, an action seen as a slight to the powerful State lawmaker. Few minutes to 10am on that day, sources alleged that unidentified thugs on the orders of the Deputy Speaker launched an onslaught on the clerk of the council legislative arm, Mr Francis Igwe and made away with it where it was hidden in a guest house called Queens Garden, used mainly as a brothel.
After some time, it was again moved from the prostitute centre to the Ndokwa East legislative leader’s house, Mr Olise Aforka, a loyalist of Osanebi, where a plot was hatched to make it look like the only opposition councilor member of the house, Mr Godstime Egworabor, representing Ward 19, Ashaka was responsible, since he was suspended for demanding for financial statement from the council Chairman, Mrs Nkechi Chukurah.
