According to a source, the Governor got wind from the delegates that they will not vote for him, if he goes ahead to challenge Senator James Manager in the election. As part of a way to get soft landing, we gathered that he was told by his partner in crime, Nduka Obaigbena to withdraw from the race to pave way for his toy candidate, Sir Anthony Obuh to emerge as governor.
After agreeing to step down, we were reliably informed that he approached James Manager and begged him to speak with his loyal delegates to vote for Obuh. Manager told him that he has no control over his delegates and that he can go and speak to them,
