Two lecturers, in persons of Salihu Kwairanga, of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, management technology (faculty member), and Muhammad Sani Isyaka, Doctor of Philosophy, Federal University of Kashere (since 2012 till date) partnered to create a company named MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED. 

As teachers who train the younger generation how to behold the rule of laws of the country, and protect these laws whether or not the authorities are watching it was rather discovered, according to research found on govspend, that this company have been used by these lecturers to siphon government contracts to their personal company.

For instance:

On January 27, 2022: Smedan-headquarters paid the sum of 9,889,648.30 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for supply of motorcycle in selected areas in funakaye Iga of Gombe north.

On February 3, 2022: National center for women development paid the sum of 9,889,648.30 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for supply of tricycles for youths in kufasa village, Kadun state, as DG approval.

On February 10, 2022: National commission for refugees paid the sum of 31,250,440.06 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for supply of food items to cushion the effect of COVID-19 in selected areas

On the February 11,2022: National productivity centre  paid the sum of 12,068,872.20 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for 40% of the job sum fee for lot go4:purchase of teaching/learning aid and equipment.

On the February 17, 2022: Smedan-headquarters paid the sum of 6,589,929.03 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for supply of motorcycle in selected areas in funakaye Iga of Gombe north.

On March 23, 2022: National commission for refugees paid the sum of 12,807,602.46 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for supply of food items to cushion the effect of COVID-19 in selected areas.

On May 7,2022: Federal ministry of health paid the sum of 9,251,786.04 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for the procurement of office equipment.

On June 17, 2022: Energy commission of Nigeria paid the sum of 8,351,280.00 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for consultancy services for energy lecture series on nep & nemp 2022

On march 29,2021: National open university paid the sum of 6,097,674.42 to MULTIBASE INVEST LIMITED as payment for the construction of auditorium block for community study centre in dawakin kudu Iga Kano state.

On August 16,2022: Federal polytechnic kaltungo, kaltungo, Gombe state paid the sum of 7,699,628.85 to MULTIBASE INVEST LIMITED as payment for mobilization for drainage and landscaping to multibus 

On September 16,2022: Federal polytechnic kaltungo, kaltungo, Gombe state paid the sum of 11,118,905.68 to MULTIBASE INVEST LIMITED as payment for being additional 30% for drainage mobilization 

On December 20,2021: National productivity centre paid the sum of 18,103,308.30 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for 60% of job sum fee for lot go4: purchase of teaching/learning aid and equipment. 

On December 30,2022: National lottery trust fund paid the sum of 34,765,000.00 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for construction of block of classrooms and furnitures in selected areas of Gombe north senatorial district.

On February 24,2023: New partnership for African development paid the sum of 10,290,699.56 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for the supply of keke napep and sewing machine to women and youths in Palladan.

On April 22,2023: New partnership for African development paid the sum of 22,511,632.30 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for the supply of keke napep and sewing machine to women and youths in Palladan.

On June 30,2023: Federal ministry of health paid the sum of 140,151,162.79 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for the construction and furnishing of pcr diagnostics laboratory/intensive care unit in novice saye Zaria.

On June 30,2023: Federal ministry of health paid the sum of 21,348,837.21 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for the construction and furnishing of pcr diagnostics laboratory/intensive care unit in novice saye Zaria.

On September 3,2024: National cereals research institute-badeggi paid the sum of 14, 082,375.00 to MULTIBASE INVESTMENT LIMITED as payment for provision of trade grants and empowerment materials for artisans in idemili north and south, anambra state.

The law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CCBT Act), dictates that public officials should not own or run a private company while employed as full-time staff. However, such laws do not apply if the company or business is in the farming sector.
