Triple Looting: How Oyo State Gov’t Awarded Contracts Worth over N100 Million To Unregistered Company And Two Others For Procurement Of Medical Equipment For Isolation Centre After Lockdown

No fewer than three contracts were awarded on March 18th, 2021 to three different companies for the procurement of medical equipment for Jericho Nursing Home COVID-19 isolation center by the Oyo State Government.
According to data on the Oyo State open procurement portal, the governor Seyi Makinde-led government awarded a contract to Kunle Kamlad Nigeria Enterprises for the procurement of medical equipment for Jericho Nursing Home COVID-19 isolation center.
According to the data, the contract was pegged at N40, 151,000.00. However, it was not stated if the contract has been completed.
Investigations revealed that Kunle Kamlad Nigeria Enterprises was incorporated in Ibadan, Nigeria, with Registration Number 637312. It was registered on 28 Apr 1987, and its status is unknown. The company’s office address is 18 Aladorin Compound, Ibadan, Oyo.
Similarly, another contract was awarded to Incaba Biotech and Biosafe for the procurement of medical equipment for the Jericho Nursing Home COVID-19 isolation center on the same day as the above-mentioned contract.
The data has it that the contract was worth N40, 439,402.00. It was not stated if the contract has been completed.
Meanwhile, investigations revealed that Incaba Biotech and Biosafe are not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
According to the code of conduct, a certificate of registration is one of the key requirements a company must have before vying for a government contract.
In another development, the State Government on March 18, 2021 also awarded a contract to Safco Mega Solutions Limited for the procurement of medical equipment for the Jericho Nursing Home COVID-19 isolation center.
According to data on the portal, the contract was valued at N32, 500,000.00. It was not stated if the contract has been completed.
SecretReporters gathered that Safco Mega Solutions Limited was incorporated in Lekki, Nigeria with Registration Number 1316710. It was registered on 19 Feb 2016 and its current status is unknown. The company’s office address is 6A, Ogombo Road, Ogombo, Ajah.
