Secret Reporters
As the race for the 2019 comes close, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel has already written his handover note, according to competent sources close to the Hilltop mansion.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who his supporters strongly believe will clinch the baton in 2019 has given up on the electoral victory unknown to them.
SecretReporters gathered that Governor Udom recently summoned a meeting of his extended family members, where he had an elaborate discussion with them. According to our very competent source, he began by apologizing to them, especially those who he has not picked their calls or helped since he ascended the number one seat. He asked for forgiveness from any of them that he has offended in the course of governing the state.
In a solemn moment, he bowed his head amidst, forlorn and depressed, he lamented to them on how the All Progressive Congress (APC) Nsima Ekere has intimidated him to submission. While lamenting, he explained that he is not coming back in 2019 as Nsima is clearly going to take over from him. He noted that the signs of his defeat is clear and is ready to make all of them millionaires within three months.
He directed them to submit proposals to him running into millions of Naira for him to approve payment. The deadline we gathered for the submission is November, while payment for all of them will be December.
The APC guber aspirant, Mr Nsima was recently targeted for assassination, where gun snipers aimed at his bedroom windows. Sources close to him disclosed to us that he has stopped staying in his house. It’s not clear to us as at press time where he currently stays if he comes to Akwa Ibom for politicking. His billboards in the state have been targets by the Udom Emmanuel led administration, with thugs ordered to remove it from strategic position where they are mounted.
When contacted to hear the position of the government on this story, the Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information didn’t pick their calls.
Nsima’s phone numbers were unavailable for comments as at press time.
