Following the report by SecretReporters on the power drunk Commandant of NSCDC, Akwa Ibom State Command, we gathered that there was wild jubilation at the command headquarters over the news of the transfer of Mrs Obiageli Obiajulu Racheal who is nicknamed  ‘Margaret Thatcher’ by her subordinates.

“The command headquarters has come alive since the news broke. We are so happy as if a yoke has been taken off our necks” narrated an officer. Another officer who spoke to our reporter lamented that it was not the first time she detained an officer without hearing him/her out. The detention of a deputy commandant, we learnt was just the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

According to the posting order with reference number NSCDC/NHQ/5.002/Volxv111/221, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, SecretReporters can authoritatively report that the Commandant General of the corps was forced to transfer commandant Obiageli to Anambra state. Our reporter gathered that several attempts made to transfer her had been previously blocked by her, leveraging on her closeness to the Commandant General. This is despite the fact that several petitions had been written against her accusing her of high-handedness, aiding and abetting illegal bunkering in the oil-rich Akwa Ibom state.

Our source further disclosed that as part of her corrupt practices, she disbanded the anti-vandal unit (the department at the heart of fighting vandalism and illegal oil bunkering) of the command as far back as 2016, giving illegal oil bunkers a free for all in the state while secretly collecting ‘monthly dues’. We learnt that the Commandant General has tasked a monitoring team from the headquarters to thoroughly investigate, supervise and monitor the activities of states in the south-south that collaborate and condone illegal oil bunkering.

It remains to be seen if the several allegations leveled against her, including the falsification of the value of land gifted to the command by the Akwa Ibom state government by over 10 million Naira will be investigated or swept under the carpet of injustice, as this will be a great disservice and injustice to the staff she sacked for a similar offence last year.
