The member representing Bomadi/Patani in the House of Representatives, Mr Nicholas Ebomo Mutu may be on his way to Ikoyi Prison, according to information reaching SecretReporters news desk.
Mutu who has been the Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from 2009 to date has allegedly used his position to fleece the board of over N7 billion, through insertion of bogus and inflated projects in the budget, which were mostly not done.
The Secondary School holder legislator incurred the eyes of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following series of petition against him, with pictorial and documents presented as evidence. The EFCC we gathered also printed a copy of a news item where Mutu was alleged to have built a home in Asaba worth N300 million.
Following the petitions, he was invited to the Commission, but has refused to honor it, giving excuses of illness. This prompted the commission to get a court order freezing over four of his accounts, which were allegedly used to launder money abroad.
Calls placed to him to get his reactions were not responded to.
